Jonathan Séguin, M.Sc.

Environmental scientist

Jonathan completed his undergraduate and MSc programs, and obtained a specialization in Chemical and Environmental Toxicology, at the University of Ottawa. He also previously worked with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans where he surveyed fish communities in Ontario’s southwest.

Jonathan has gained extensive field and laboratory experiences in biology. He has done field work and collected environmental samples (e.g., fish, water, and sediment) in the tributaries of Lake Erie to conduct fish community assessments while monitoring for invasive species and species at risk. Jon’s background is predominantly in aquatic toxicology; he has quantified the accumulating compounds derived from a Canadian oil product in freshwater mussels and developed bioaccumulation models following a large-scale, ecosystem experiment simulating a series of oil spills. Jon was also responsible to train and develop a network of oil spill responders within the Great Lakes Region in Canada.

Jon hails from northern Ontario and is looking forward to working out of our Sudbury office.
