John Seyler

John Seyler, BSc

John has over 30 years of experience in the field of aquatic and terrestrial ecology and has managed a wide range of multidisciplinary studies within the Power, Mining and Land Development sectors. Prior to becoming a professional consultant, John managed the Anishinabek Ontario Fisheries Resource Centre, working with aboriginal communities to assess and resolve environmental issues. Prior to this, John worked within the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry in field operations, plan input and review and scientific capacities. John has extensive experience in designing and implementing fish and wildlife population, habitat assessments and environmental impact studies. Past projects include baseline studies, comprehensive environmental assessments, and permitting required for mining, smelting, access road, transmission corridor, pipeline, hydroelectric and nuclear generating station construction, retrofitting and operation, habitat offset (compensation) planning, remediation of contaminated sites and long term monitoring programs. John has successfully collaborated with stakeholders, researchers, government agencies and First Nation political organizations and communities to identify and address environmental concerns and provide practical solutions to ecological issues.
